Meet Bloom

Bloom is a patchwork bear who believes she’s broken because she doesn’t look like everyone else.

When she meets a patchwork butterfly named Flurry, she begins to see the world through new eyes and learns something important:

Everyone is stitched together differently.

Some love routine.

Some chase every new interest.

Some collect rocks.

Some collect hobbies.

Some need quiet.

Some need chaos.

And none of them are broken.

The Not So Broken Bear is a picture book about belonging, acceptance, and discovering you were never broken to begin with.

Why We Created Bloom

For a long time, I believed being different meant something was wrong with me.

Many children grow up feeling the same way. They struggle to explain what they’re feeling. They are told they’re too loud, too quiet, too sensitive, too focused, too emotional, or not emotional enough. Over time, many begin to wonder if they were simply put together wrong.

Bloom was born from a different idea.

What if being different isn’t a flaw?

What if the things that make us unique are simply part of how we were made?

Bloom and Flurry’s story was created to help children see themselves in those differences and understand that they don’t need to be fixed to be worthy of love, belonging, and acceptance.

They were never broken to begin with.

Kickstarter is live.
